We will face challenges in this life. Life on earth was never meant to be trouble-free. We have two choices as a Christian, Faith or Fault. Fault says, “What could I have done differently?”, “What should I have done to avoid?”, “Why me?”, “Why now?”, “Is this my fault?”, “Am I being punished for past wrongs in my life?” The focus is on “me” and says, “Woe is me.”
Fault lives in defeat and despair. Faith looks up to God for repair. Faith knows everything in this life is temporary, and believes that “This too shall pass.” When all in your life seems unreliable and unstable, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” God will order our steps. When you want to bow your head and give up, Faith reminds us to “Look to the Hills from whence comes your help.” Faith allows us to personalize God’s Word. He says to me, “When you walk through the waters I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.” Notice this scripture, from Isaiah 43:2, says we will walk through waters, rivers, and even fire.
Life for us will not be perfect and without waters that are difficult to traverse and intense fiery furnaces of trial. The Message Bible says, “When we are between a rock and a hard place, it will not be a dead end, because I am God, your personal God.” God is with us, He cares about us, and God will do what is best for us.
Friends, we will go through murky waters filled with Satan’s quicksand seeking to pull us down. There will be staggering situations, traumatizing trials, expected confrontations and unexpected conflicts but God says he will never leave us defenseless, alone, unequipped nor without His Supernatural Power to survive.
Get into His Word to find a Word to strengthen, sustain and maybe even save your life. How many times have you heard someone say, “I was about to give up, but I opened the Bible and found hope to live on”? In God’s Word there is healing for the soul, strength for your body and the help to keep going.
Let me close with this message from the heart of God, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10. BELIEVE.
